I'm Putting on MY War Face!

Early this morning, like in 3a.m. EARLY, my phone rang.  We all know that when the phone rings at those hours, nothing positive comes from it.  These are the "dreaded" phone calls in the night hours we hesitate to answer.

As I hear it ringing from a distance, I fumble, tumble and finally got a hold of the phone.  It was Rey!  His tone of voice warned me that it was not going to be pleasant news.  He will be going to a remote place for more combat training that will not enable him to call or text me for the next five days!  He was very upset to say the least.  Of course I got the list of "to do's" and "not to do's".....mostly they were "not to do's" and be "a good girl" speech!  Okay Daddy! LOL.....

I love my husband so much and miss him dearly BUT sometimes the things he says is just well, ummmmn....well.....let's see.....ahhhhhh  .....jeez......I just got no words.  You get the picture, don't ya!

A majority of men and women who are in the service experience a change in their behavior due to the stresses they endure.  It is inevitable when your mind is being programmed to "war mode" and the body is being stretched to its limit without proper rest or food.

They are trained not to "trust" anyone.  Everyone (man, woman & child) is their enemy! They are ready to attack at any given moment without thought because that split second they do stop to think, may cost them their lives.  Talk about stress huh! Then we wonder why our soldiers return to us with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) amongt other things. They have been accustomed to be violent in mind, talk and action for a year at minimum.

Unfortunately, we the wives and the children become a target between the crossfire. We receive the brunt of their stress.  Although they unknowingly are verbally abusive, harsh or insensitive when they do call us, they are concerned about us as well.  It may not seem so because of the way they may come across but overall they are.

Ladies, its going to take us to put on our "war face" and come into "spiritual war mode"! It's time to become the SOLDIERS at the home front and battle for our husbands and family!  What we are fighting against is not our husbands, but the one who desires to sift them.  His warring tactic is to steal, kill and destroy. Not only our soldiers, but our families and US!

So we must prepare to do battle to deter his schemes.  How do we do this? By putting on the full armor of God and war in prayer and intercession!  Are you ready?

Sometimes I wonder who truly has a greater fight, the soldiers or the ones they leave behind.  But nonetheless, we are all fighting whether in the physical like our men or in the spiritual like US, the wives!!

The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.  ~ Ephesians 6:10-20
